The Zalmnari Coffee Estate lies in the micro-region of Cachi, Orisi Valley In Costa Rica. Nestled between volcanic mountain ranges, leguminous shade trees grow amongst the fields of coffee. Cold evening temperatures benefit the ripening of rich, full flavoured beans.

During the milling process, a reduced amount of water and anaerobic oxidation tanks ensure the water recycled back into the rivers is clean to protect the natural flora, fauna, and the forest.

At Road Coffee, we have been so fortunate to meet wonderful producers like Ceci. Visiting their farms in person, we experienced first hand the spirit and passion that shows in their coffee. Their commitment to producing quality coffee, protecting the environment with sustainable business practices and their support of the Cachi community are just a few reasons why we love working with Ceci and her family.

As a fourth generation female-run business, Ceci and her mother Marigold, were some of the first women involved in the Women Coffee Alliance. They are passionate about women’s empowerment, and their farm was the first to earn the WCC (Women Care Certified) which is designed to improve the sustainable lifestyle for women involved with cultivating, processing, trading and exporting coffee.
